Adding 120 V Power Inlet

I was planning on placing a 120 v power inlet between the wheel and heat pump vent on my 2012 T@B, centered where the dot is on the photo. However, when I drilled a 1/8" pilot hole (from the inside), I discovered that there is aluminum sheet embedded in the foam, which appears to be what the outside wheel fender is screwed into and may also be supporting the heat pump casing? I don't have any diagram of the T@B framework in this area. I had assumed there would only be foam between the inside and outside of the wall. So, I'm wondering if it would be a mistake to drill a 2" hole centered where the dot is in order to insert the power inlet. Given that the factory placed the 30 amp power inlet at the back to the rear of the propane heater rather than in front or in back of the wheel fender (which would have been the shortest distance to the power center), I'm assuming it would not be in my best interest to proceed to drill that 2" hole?
