Remove television and Jensen stereo.

I’d like to remove both the television and Jensen stereo from my 320s 2018. Don’t use, just taking up space, and battery. Is it easy to do? No electrical skills, but I can follow directions. Thank you!

Removing appliances, whether in the home, the car, or the camper is all about having the right tools.  If you have them, it shouldn't be too difficult.

If you have a basic screwdriver set, socket set, and maybe even some plastic pry tools for the stereo, I don't see why you couldn't remove it yourself.

The TV should be straightforward.  Disconnect the cords going to it and then unbolt it from the bracket.

I'm sure at least a couple people here have removed one or both of those items from their Tab.  I've done several car audio installs, but I can't speak to the process of removing the stereo system for your Tab.

Removing is easy. I would recommend you leave the wiring. If/when you sell the trailer, it would be good for the next owner to have the option to restore an entertainment system.

Yes, definitely leave the original wiring harnesses intact unless you have something advanced planned.  Just bundle them, zip-tie them, and tuck them somewhere.

We removed the TV in our trailer, but left the Jensen. Nice to have Bluetooth music from your phone on the trailer speakers every now and then.

Haven't purchased mine yet, but I plan on doing the same.  TV is useless when you have a large tablet, but stereo will come in handy.  I assume the stereo can run on battery.

I'm a bit of audiophile, so when on shore power I plan on running a small home audio system (a Rega io and micro bookshelf speakers).  If I could fit a tube amp in there I would, but it's probably too big and too bumpy on the road to make sense.

@bayernfan, the Jensen will run when boondocking on battery power.

Yeah, I think a tube amp would be a misfit in the trailer. Too bad, they’re great! I have a McIntosh MA-6100 integrated amp at home. Can’t give it up.

I know all about being attached to a great amp.  I've built several tube amplifiers, this last year I designed and built a 300B based single-ended amp.  It sounds phenomenal.  But I think it's better enjoyed at home.  If I had that much luxury on the road, I'd have no reason to come back.

I think people really underestimate how bumpy it is back there when the trailer is in motion. I doubt a tube amp would survive. I keep hoping that someone with a GoPro will shoot video of the interior when the trailer is moving.

I just unplugged the TV and leave it in place, it's not in our way. I installed a on/off switch just below the Jensen stereo in the closet ceiling so it is off when I'm not using it which is seldom.

I put a bluetooth transmitter on the Jensen stereo and use a Bose wireless speaker both inside and outside. One of these days I'll get around to rebuilding the inside speakers with better drivers so they sound better.
We also use the TV as we use the T@B for more than camping.

One winter day we picked up a DVD from the library that our home DVD player wouldn't play. So I ran out to Tab parked in the side yard, turned on the battery, propane and Adle. After making some popcorn we walked out to the Tab popped in the DVD into Jenson and enjoyed the movie with popcorn and wine in our toasty 320.

I removed the television but left the stereo.  The stereo doesn't take up much useful space, but I did wire in a cutoff switch to prevent the phantom electrical draw.  We rarely use it but it is nice to have to play our Spotify songs via Bluetooth every now and then.  I didn't want the television bouncing around on the rough roads we typically travel and I thought it was just a matter of time before things came loose.

The television is quite easy to remove.  I removed the bracket as well and hung the wires just below the cavity of the mounting bracket for future use, if needed.  It's pretty much just unplug/unscrew and you can remove it all.

I built a little cubby and mounted a bungee net to hold things like a flashlight, chapstick and phone at night.  You can also see the Luci light that I primarily use as a reading light.

As a first step you can pull the fuse that provides power to the TV and radio. Turns off that annoying radio screen and phantom power use. In my unit those are the only two things on that circuit. I plan to remove the TV and build in a little shelf using the bracket as support. For now the TV makes a nice little towel drying rack...
