Batteries charging only with solar even when connected to 30amp

Hello, we are the proud owner of a 2021 tab 400.  We updated our batteries to lions x2
Having a clearer picture of their charging through the phone app, we noticed that the batteries only charge with solar when we are plugged in to 30amp. Any insight into this? I really thought the 30amp campground would trickle charge the batteries?

When I plug my Tab into any 120 volt electric source the converter where the breakers and fuses are located will produce a sound. If you are not hearing anything there might be something off such as a fuse or breaker. I have not had this problem so I don't have first hand knowledge.

Step One is to confirm the Power Center convertor is functional.

While connected to Shore Power (confirm by using the Kitchen outlet),
turn the Battery Cut-Off switch to OFF,
now see if any of the 12VDC only items {fans, cabin lights} are working.

If the fans/lights don't work then something is wrong with the 120VAC-to-12VDC convertor . . . could be as simple as a tripped 120V Circuit Breaker . . .

If fans/lights work correctly, return Battery Switch to ON.
Confirm your 'app' is correctly set-up.
Consider disconnecting Solar controller from Battery . . . does 'app' provide any new information.

Do you have a smart shunt that you are using to monitor the charging? The WFCO converter in your unit is probably not a LiFePo4 compatible unit. That being said, it still should charge the batteries up to a certain point and then the solar should be able to top it off.

    Hi,

Just another input from my experience.  I also installed two Lion Batteries in my 320 with a non lithium converter.  For some reason my converter/charger works differently than most reported here.  My charger also will not go into charge mode on its own when my batteries are less than 100% charged.  I have to turn everything off and then on (battery disconnect and main 30 amp breaker) then the charger will go on.  Someone else reported on FB  the same experience and by chance they also have Lion batteries.  Not sure if it’s related to the battery brand..but that is 2 data points.  One other  difference is my non lithium charger will charge both batteries to 100% every time (same with the other FB poster) But will not begin a charge cycle til I go through the above iteration..I’ve asked WFCO and on a few RV electrical forums and don’t seem to get solid answer.  I’ve installed a standalone Victron charger to get better charging.

BTW I like my Lion batteries.  Very quick customer support .

Hello and thank you for your interest. I do have a citron mppt solar charger that is supporting of lithium batteries. I did change the settings as recommended by lion batteries.  After a complete reset of the electric panel,  the trailer is taking the charge from the campground connection.
