Brake Pads

How many miles have you on your brakes ? I have about 13,000 mile.
I ask because there is a huge range in recommended replacement times; from 12k to 25 +k. Certainly one must inspect and perhaps measure the thickness of the brake pad.

Has anyone replaced their brake pads - if so after how many miles, and what was the condition of the pads ?
Thnx.

Good question. When I repacked wheel bearings last winter we had about 20,000 miles on the trailer and the brake shoes still had plenty of lining left. We have another 7,000+ miles on now and many of those miles were on mountain passes and/or rough backcountry roads. It will be interesting to see how they look this year.My tow vehicle is a full-sized pickup and I have the trailer brakes adjusted fairly low so I’m not asking a lot from the trailer brakes themselves. As they say, YMMV.2021 320S BD
