Looking at used 2022 400 Boondock. What do you think?

Hi all. I'm looking at a used 2022 Tab 400 Boondock that has been sitting on the lot at a dealership since early June and it was a trade in.  On December 30, I drove 2.5 hours and checked it out.  Looked to be in great condition with only some minor cosmetic issues on fabric and a missing handle on the kitchen sink. Has a rain cover addition for fan and the storage pipe for waste slinky but otherwise no other upgrades.  Small fridge and  the solar port, which I both want. They have to replace the front door lock because they lost the keys and decided to drill the lock instead of just ordering new keys.

It's listed for $24,999 and told them I needed to be $22, 500 out the door since especially since it came with no extras such as a cover which I would need immediately in the NE.  They said they paid $22,000 for it and showed me their internal doc.  First quote is on left with no negotiating.  Told them I do not need them to register it and will have my own tech give it the once over. So asked them to remove the taxes and prep/doc fees, I wanted to pay entire cost in cash and reminded them I needed to be $22, 500 out the door.  They came back with second quote which has a higher selling price and said they would not include the usual new batteries and not fill the propane tank. I showed them while the subtotal is lower, I would actually being paying more with the removal of the batteries and propane and the increased selling price since I might need to buy new batteries immediately and of course fill the tank.  They countered with a $225 gift card to their store and said $23,324 is the absolute lowest.  I reminded them I needed to be $22,500 out the door and to just remove the doc and remaining prep fees.  They said can't do so I walked.  But the Tab 400 siren is calling me back and telling me I'm a fool to pass it up.  What do you think?

Currently I go by the year for the 320 so a '22 320 clean and no problems at a dealer would be ~$22,000. About $23,000 for a 400 isn't bad as long as everything works and it's clean. Make sure you run the fridge, Heat, and AC to see if they work before you sign on the line. Don't know where you are but there's not much way to get past sales tax. Here in the Northeast you'll pay the amount for your State when you register it if you haven't paid it already.

Thanks SLJ.  If I move forward, have a certfied tech lined up to give it the once over including everything you mentioned.  I'm in NY but for sales tax, I'm planning to register it in Montana.

I'm actually in the same position that you are, looking at a 2021 400 Boondock. Lot listed it at $28K, I offered $15K cash (you never know right?), they have come down to $24,500 drive out with all TTL. I'm asking for $20K drive out, but I might offer $22K. I'm not in a hurry and am keeping an eye on this board and other places.

A "dealer" who is too lazy or doesn't know anything about a Nucamp product who simply destroyed a lock instead of taking 5 minutes on the phone with NuCamp to get a new set of keys ...should be avoided at all costs.
    I'm going to guess...Camping World?

I’d say your firm offer was fair and you were right to walk. There are more out there.

Naturally.  I always said I would never go there but thought...hey that rig looks really good.  My next thought was...I should probably hire a certified RV inspector.
