UCAMP'25 or BUST!!!!

It all started on a bright and sunny  Sunday morning. A glorious day to be sure! We packed a picnic lunch and some cold drinks, What could be better? We were on the way to our first UCAMP.
Well about 6 hours into our road trip we stopped at a rest stop on Rt 80 West in PA. We enjoyed that picnic lunch, hoped back into the Tahoe and got back on the road. We made it about a mile and the transmission decided it was not going to Ohio. We limped off of the highway and were stranded. AAA could not get anyone to tow my Tahoe and Tab 400 the remaining 130 miles to the UCAMP25 gathering.
We finally had someone come out and tow us to a Love's rest stop that also had a small 8 spot campground. Kudo's to Cameron from East Main Service. It was actually 8:30 pm by the time we arrived at Love's. We made arrangements to have the Tahoe towed back to NJ and we rented the only UHAUL truck within an hours drive of our location. We spent two nights at the Love's rest stop. Not a bad place to be stuck. Very disappointed that we missed UCAMP 25
This morning a box arrived from NuCamp. Two SWAG Bags from the UCAMP25 event. What a pleasant surprise. Thanks NuCamp. A very nice touch.
We were really disapponted to miss UCamp25 and meet all the other owners.
The Tahoe transmission has been repaired and it's going up for sale. New tow vehicle purchased.

Interesting. In June 2021 I was going to Ohio to drag race. I made it to the last rest area on interstate 80 about 35 miles from Ohio. I needed a tow. At the time I was 30 year member of AAA so I called them. It was a Saturday. The lady said they couldn’t get anyone out until Monday. I only have a flip phone so I asked her if she could call another tow company. Nope. My wife was working, so she called AAA when she got home. She was on hold for a half hour before the got back to her. She was told someone would be out around 5:30 pm. Nice tow guy. He said we are in their coverage area and his wife is the dispatcher. He said they were never called the 1st time. The 1st AAA lady said I should call my insurance company. We have the RV towing package. Anyway, the driver was a drag racer and we had a lot to talk about on the way home. Cost me $800.00. @1963122

We are not very Happy with AAA. Seems that AAA does not pay the drivers enough to tow long distance. No luck getting anyone out on a Sunday.  Cameron (The local guy) took great care of us.
BTW- Looks like my 2016 Tab on the back of the wrecker. LOL Loved that thing. Just a little too small for us. We will be attending 2026.
