I have a one piece sewer hose that has an elbow attached (non-removable). None of the storage tubes I could find commercially will accommodate the elbow, so I decided to build my own...
Then I got a can of black satin spray paint and some black 8" radiator clamps (aka jubilee clips, aka worm gear clamps).
I sanded the pipe and painted it (having it already be black made the job a lot easier) and then glued on the end caps.
Then I adjusted the cross bars on the Yakima rack so I could nestle the tube in them and attached the radiator clips alternating between encompassing the tube and the top bar and the tube and the bottom bar.
It's not as professional looking as I had pictured it in my mind, but it's not too shabby... and, did I mention the elbow fits inside? I also added a 5' section of water hose since on my last trip to the dump station there was no hose, only a spigot which made rinsing things out a challenge. Fortunately I had a section of like a 2' hose (you know, the kind with plastic female attachments on both ends) that I made do with.
I think next I will drill some weep holes along the "bottom" side of the tube so that any skank water can drain out and eventually dry out. I only use that hose for gray water, but it's still being placed in the same sewer clean out that I just dumped my cassette in to (and that everyone else dumps their black water in to.)
Anyway... pics below:
Lemme know what y'all think!
