Need Advice on Changing Out Rear Taillight on 2015 360s Boondock - Resolved

This is a new post following my 7-pin plug issue. I think I traced it to a rear taillight. My new problem is that the taillight does not just pop out. I took off the small plastic housing, pulled the taillight out, pulled the junction box out, and it looks like the wiring goes further into the housing. I have attached (4) pictures that show, hopefully, my dilemma. Two questions: 1) do I have to take off the whole back-end plastic or am cutting and splicing? 2) where can I get a replacement for the rear light?

There have been several threads about LED replacement tail lights in the past.  Try this to start, which has a part number for the "Kaper" II.
This thread has the same link embedded in a comment, but there are also pictures of the install.
And, here is another I just stumbled across.
There may be some differences in various years, of course, compared to your 2016.  But the part and process should be close to the same.

thank you for all of your help; I ordered a set of replacement taillights, and I have my fingers crossed that they will end my saga of no right turn signal that started as a 7-pin issue

    For my 2015 Boondoock:

I followed the suggestions made Thomas and went to superbrightleds.com. I ordered the: Round LED Truck and Trailer Lights Combo Box with License Plate Light - 4" Stop / Turn / Tail Lights - Universal Stud Mount 9 LEDs; SKU: TLS-R17HF-R-K.

They worked when I test wired one of them. Three things that I learned: 1) there are two bolts with washers that keep the junction box together. I needed to cut down both bolts because they were too long to fit into the taillight housing (attached photo). 2) I needed to cut the wiring from the old taillight to wire the new taillight. No plug-ins… I soldered, heat wrapped and taped the (3) sets of wires together; and 3) I needed to use a silicone adhesive to keep the junction box snug/attached to the taillight housing (attached photo). Without this, the taillight junction box will move around.
