Alde Gas Failure Alarm

We're on a long trip with a lot of boondocking so a couple nights ago when I turned on my Alde for hot water and got a "gas failure" alert with flashing caution signs I was not happy. I've seen this before but couldn't remember what I did about it. I thought it required accessing an in-line fuse under the bed. Searched here and saw lots of things like empty propane tank, air in propane line, failed circuit board, etc. All of these I knew not to be true. I turned off the battery switch for about 30 seconds and when I turned it back on was able to switch on the Alde with no alarm. This is in a 2023 400.

Good for you for getting things going. The best way to clear any Alde error is with the 12V battery disconnect switch.

The reasons for a gas failure error can be varied. Not enough propane. A propane pigtail that is just not working nicely. A propane regulator that is not working well. The Alde has a fairly complicated startup procedure on propane, and several things have to go correctly: proper amount of propane, the proper speed of the exhaust fan…and only then will the Alde light the gas.

This often happens to owners in the spring when the Alde has been sitting idle for months (that is my guess). When this has happened to me, I've simply reset a couple of times, and the Alde has started normally, like yours did.
