D-Man, why the need to remove the tabletop from the support?
The table top is from a folding scissor table from Walmart about $19. The leg is 1 1/4" oak dowel from Home Depot about $9. I used oak because it is stronger. You will need a 1 1/4" hole saw about $15. I used a 2x4 for the support arm. Glued dowel in place The rear ketch is a storm window hanger something I had in the shop. The bottom anchor is a PVC end cap screwed to the floor.
When table is folded the legs extend several inches beyond the end of top of the table. It would be nice to leave them on just not practical with this particular table. This table top is very light which is a big plus for me. I may try to find a quick way to reattach the legs for outdoor use. Thanks for the idea. The other reason to remove the table top off is for storage.
I was able to modify the original table leg retaining clips by heating them up and bending them out straight. Now I can simply snap legs back on no tools needed.
I have zero woodworking skills and just picked up one of these adjustable teak "shower stools" and am very happy with my choice. It weighs very little. At its lowest height at 13 inches high, it fits underneath the bed slats when the S maxx bed is made, and at its highest point of 19 inches, it just clears the cushions when using it as a table . One can easily raise and lower the four legs (via push buttons) in less than a minute. Love it.
Amazon. Also if you just search for "adjustable shower stool" or "adjustable shower bench", similar medical grade versions come up (lighter bamboo wood, silver legs instead of copper, etc., but same basic mini "T@Bt@ble"). I went with the darker teak to go with the darker "boatdeck" flooring of my Sofitel.
This thing is no-nonsense, designed to hold a 220lb person sitting in a tub or shower.
I played with the idea of getting two of them and using them in place of making slats, then found perfect white slats at Lowes (4, 7.5 inch wide bookcase shelves trimmed to 29 inches in length) so i went with that and ordered one of these stools to travel either under the bed when fully made (or hanging out near the fridge) as a side table, or in the middle of the "square" when slats are stashed away.
I would check the dimensions of your exact T@B (height floor to rails/base of cushions against the stool specs) as there do seem to be slight variations sometimes between our T@B units.

I'm new here, so what exactly is the table quandry?-5%5
Table takes up too much room when two people are inside trying to change clothes or even just hanging out. I too made the change to slats and took the table out for good.
In making the compromise between a table top that is sturdy enough to form a significant platform for the bed, yet adjustable to rise and function as a table top, some people consider it too big and too heavy. Some people also find the folding legs under the table awkward to use (and contributing to the overall heaviness of the table). So lots of people have substituted slats for the bed and either leave the bed made up all the time, or use other smaller tables when the bed is not in use.
I actually don't mind the table. I do spend most of my camping time outdoors during the day, and pull the table out and put it under the window on the passenger side with a water jug or something on it. On rainy days, I have left the table inside and played games etc. That option is why I like the S model as opposed to the CS -- the option to stay inside in inclement weather. Yes, the table is a bit heavy and a bit awkward to lift in and out without bumping things. However, in the end I'll probably go with slats and maybe one of the smaller table options - that new detachable leg/swivel table arm mechanism LG is putting in the new T@bs looks really cool. Maybe I'll get one of them.

We don't mind the original table in out 2015 Q-max. One thing I have done is lower the table, fold down the couch back, put a table cloth on top to protect the upholstery, and set the table up there. Then there is more open floor space and a table top to put the coffee on.
Dale, you may have a really great design on your table, but I can't see your table because of the extremely large size of your photos. Could you please resize your photos so I can see if this design is something that would work for me?
Thanks

I tried to down size my pictures on the first pictures. Can someone tell me if they are viewable now. Thanks
Great job in re-sizing the first set of photos Dale and if you can work on the others it would make the page load even quicker.... It looks like some of the other photos below the re-sized pics might be duplicates.
Thank you!
