battery disconnect

I'm a newby with a 21 tab 400. I towed my trailer to my storage spot and went to disconnect power(switchoff) noticed the plastic cap was broken. Since it was going into storage I un mounted switch and disconnected leads. I was confused why the display on the control panel read "Charged"- five lights (red) . Tried to figure out why the lights were on. Pressed for time I then disconnected + and- leads to the battery and still had lights. The Victron on the phone app had Load output "State" showed off. I'm very confused and the important question is with the leads to the battery disconected do I have to worry about storing the camper . Thanks for any info

As you are a self professed newbie and the trailer is a 2021 model I assume you bought the trailer used. No telling what modifications might have been done to it. The switch should turn off power to the inside and so should disconnecting the leads to it. Was the tow vehicle still connected ? It's not plugged into shore power, correct ?

The "load" info in the Victron app is a source for confusion. There is nothing connected to the "load" terminals on the solar charge controller. There are applications where a small load connects directly to the controller but in an RV you have the "power center" with fuses and the converter so the controller only charges the battery.

Thanks for the response. The trailer was neither connected to shore power or the car. It seemed as if the solar panels were powering the lights directly

That's not how it is supposed to work. With the battery disconnect switched off solar should keep the battery charged not power the 12V side of the trailer.

I'm not familiar with the exact wiring configuration of the 400, but that's certainly possible. Any power input to the trailer (e.g., tow vehicle, converter via shore power, or solar) will be influence the reading on your control panel or voltmeter. In these cases, the reading reflects the external power source, not the actual state of charge of the battery.
