Anybody from Colorado here?

I am planning a summer trip to Colorado.
There are a couple of BLM areas that I am wanting to stay at but unsure if I will be able to tow my T@B into them.
The first is Phantom Canyon, where some places say 25' max length (my Sienna and T@B are ~30', each one half that).
Next is Oh-Be-Joyful BLM area, which says 25' max length as well.
The other stops seem to be okay.
Has any of you been to either of these places?

Not from CO but I've always took those length designations as just the length of the camper/motorhome. Sometimes the restriction is because of campsite lengths and others (Big Sur) because of hairpin curves and switchbacks (you'd never make the cut if over the length spec).

Oh-Be-Joyful requires a creek crossing and is really meant for tents.  However, there are lots of forest Service dispersed camping areas near Crested Butte. I also like the paid campgrounds along Taylor Canyon in Almont. Some of those sites have electricity. If you go past Taylor Reservoir, you could also have some very nice higher elevation boondocking. There are many options between Gunnison and the Black Canyon and also in the Cimarrons.

Thank you Jenn!  Amazing that sites that were available yesterday (for reservations) are already gone today.

I have had great luck with walk in sites along Taylor Canyon and bring part way between CB and Gunnison is nice. The drive up the canyon is beautiful and it is very refreshing in the summer.

So far I have actually paid for reservations at these places:
    Trinidad Lake, CO
    Amphitheater, CO (near Ouray)
Black Canyon, NM (near Santa Fe)

There's a stretch of 4 days in the middle of the trip that we'll need to find places to stay.  Hopefully we won't have too many problems finding free/cheap BLM or FS places off Highway 50.  It's never been a problem in the past.  Hopefully it still isn't.

    You should be fine.

There is also some boondocking at Hartman Rocks, too, on the south side of Gunnison.
