Shower door magnetic strip

Found 1 discussion in the files and it was a complaint regarding the shower door magnetic strip.
Ours has a cut near the bottom and the lip of the strip frequently falls out which allows the entire strip to do the same.
Has anyone else experienced this?  If so, did you glue the 2 pieces?
It is such a tiny piece that a person could easily dispose as trash on the floor.
Thank you.

I had the same problem after taking delivery.  I drilled a very small starter hole at the bottom of the door just below the magnetic strip.  Put a small screw in to keep the strip from falling down.  No issues in five months of use.

I need a replacement for my magnetic strip that was always cracked and crumbling from when I bought the trailer used. Does anyone know where I can get one? Or has anyone Macgyver'd something to replaced it? I bought a sticky magnetic strip but it certainly doesn't fit into that slot and it doesn't "stay stuck" so if I cannot find anything else, I may have to continue to work with this or find something else to use.

Regarding the magnetic strip falling out, see if this discussion provides any helpful info (does not address replacement of the magnet):

@Bayliss there's nothing in that thread about replacing a broken magnet. I reread thru that thread to be sure I didn't miss anything.

@ReenieG, yep, I noted that in my post, because of your inquiry.  My mistake in adding the link is that a I "thought" the post by @judymac was recent, and I was responding to that specific inquiry.  It was actually from 2016, so I was quite a bit late to the conversation  :o  .  Sorry about that.  (Maybe the link will help someone in the future.)
