Tonydjd - Did you manage to screw your brackets into something solid?

Doubtful the piece on door is through bolted piece on outside wall is not.I'm sure 40mph wind might take it off wall. But I won't have door open or awning up. Back up I have tent stake on door hinge just in case

By using the ten stake is there a chance if a wind or someone forces the door could it cause severe damage to the door or hinge?

If it's too windy I won't have the stake in as I won't have the Visor up. Haven't used either for almost two months. Can be calm during the day and gusty in the middle of the night.
I suppose if someone fell against the door it could hurt the hinge. There's enough give in the stake that a brush against it doesn't hurt it.

I like the use of magnets a lot but not in this case. Magnets   are a lot like suction cups they can let go just at the wrong time. JMHO

Is there anything ferrous in the wall or door?

I was thinking of the magnets that have holes for a screw in the center - like donuts.
