Yep, 16" is supposed to put the trailer at level, which is ideal for towing. I have had to make some adjustments to mine over time. I moved the spare tire to the tongue and added a heavier duty battery. I also tend to overload the back of the truck with just-in-case stuff. The result has been that the original 16" height got a little lower. I noticed a difference in towing. I have raised the ball a little by adding a couple of huge split washers and added just a little weight to the back of the trailer. Will give the new setup a test on the way to Tearstock. If it doesn't work, adjustments will be easy.
