Get your brakes adjusted!

We are getting ready for a road trip and took our T@B to a reliable trailer shop last week to get the brakes adjusted. The trailer guy said, yep, they were quite a bit loose. We probably had 500 miles on the trailer as we just couldn't schedule it in earlier. I can tell a difference between before and after.
He said lots of people don't do the initial adjustment and bring their trailers in after a year or two because their brakes stopped working at all.

Good advice, and the smaller the tow vehicle, the more critical it is. I have surge brakes, and I know they need adjusting. Fortunately, my full-sized truck sort of compensates until I get it done...definitely before I head out on another long trip. Also, check the fluid level as well as the quality of the fluid. If the fluid looks milky/streaky at all, probably need to purge the line and add new fluid.
