Question about the mixer valve

The valve is only labeled + and -. What does that mean? If I turn it towards + does that give me more hot water, or more cold water mixed in with the hot?

I've played with the valve but the results were inconclusive.

Towards the + side is for hotter, the - side cooler. I know, I had to play with mine also.

Thanks for the info.  I think I inadvertently set it for cooler water assuming the - was for less cold water in the mix...

Yeah since it is a mixing valve one could assume the + means more mixing.
