Winterizing - city water connection

I'm winterizing my 2017 S. The 2016 PDF instructions provide two methods: blow out or anti-freeze. I'm doing the anti-freeze method as it seems safer - less chance of missing some water. My question is, if I put anti-freeze in my fresh water tank, and run my pump to fill the lines, do I also need to buy the hand pump to push anti-freeze into the city water connection?

You should be fine. Everything is tied together, and the distribution system is the same whether it's fed by the holding tank or the city water port. Assuming it's like my 2015-S, a very short (~3") line connects the city water port to the distribution system.

Tacomaguy - It's the pink RV winterizing antifreeze - It's used to winterize northwoods cabin sink/toilets also.

 I have a question regarding the antifreeze.  I didn't put any water in the fresh water tank, just used city water.  I understand everything until I get to the end of the written directions where is says to drain the black and gray tanks.  Why?  Shouldn't it be left in the tanks for the winter?  What am I missing here?

Tweedrvr - You want to drain the excess water out of the black and gray tanks, then add a little RV anti freeze so the gate valves do not freeze.

Tweedrvr, If you can work the black/gray gate valves (big drain valves) open and closed a few times while the antifreeze is in there (or while it's flowing out), it'll help distribute the antifreeze around the valve parts.
