Roof Vent Latch: What's the Fix?

Attaching a couple of pics of the broken connector on the roof vent.  Cannot seem to find a photo of what it is supposed to look like.  Is the broken piece an integral part of the hatch itself?  Hate to wake up Rube for this, but may have to.Are the pieces supposed to line up?  Cannot seem to make that work.

Looks like the vent lock - that's the only black thing like that on mine. If so, not critical to the operation.

When driving at highway speeds, the hatch flops up and down a bit.  Even had people drive up beside us pointing at it. Makes me worried about driving in rain, as we did get water in T@B from indeterminate point last big storm we drove through.

If I crank the vent tight it seems to stay but I have a vent cover. You could probably call Fantastic Fan and get the part. Also add a vent cover - I added so I could still use the vent in rain.

I had the same thing happen to my post that the lock grabs onto.
Remove the bug screen from the fan.
Remove the fan blades (you should be able to get your hands up to the post).
Use some J&B Bond to glue the broken pieces together.
Reinsert the screw or use a new one.
Done.
