    We will be heading down the Oregon Coast, visit my parents in Northern CA, then head across Tahoe/Reno through Boise to end the trip viewing the eclipse.

    If you are thinking you will be able to just pull over to the side of the road to view it, at least in Idaho that may be a problem.  They are anticipating large numbers of people and heavy traffic.

    We just found what looks like a great deal.  Grace Bible Church in Smiths Ferry, Idaho (Eclipse Totality area),  is coordinating overnight stays in their area.  As a church fundraiser, they are setting up "parking/camping" slots in their field and allowing people to reserve a spot for the weekend thru Monday night.
