First Trip

We took our first T@B trip before we received the license plates.  Our trip was to New Brighton State Beach in California. It's not too far of a first trip an we haven't been there since taking our son and two daughters tent camping there nearly 20 years ago.  We had little choice between camping spots, but did see quite a few trailers.  We are new to trailers, so are just noticing ( my wife even commented on how much money Americans spend on trailers.  Now we are part of them.  The weather was great, with some much needed rain on our last night. We did see a set of trailer sites with hook-ups while walking through the park to the beach.  I'm trying to post some pictures.

Great photos Gil and it looks like you had a premo spot!   Thanks for sharing the beautiful photos as it sure gets the travel juices flowing.

Gil - I'm also adding that one to my list. My first trips will be staying in the west (AZ, CA, OR) so that one looks most excellent --- finding places by the water is a plus! Thanks for posting. Michele

Michelle, my wife's sister lives in Scottsdale.  We are considering a trip there and will probably try to visit Tucson as Cathy's (my wife) high school friend lives there. New Brighton is nice, but I have other destinations that I favor, some by a lot.  I have some pictures of other places, but taken prior to getting our T@B, so I hesitate to post them here.  Do you know about when you might visit California and will you be making a big loop or taking separate trips? I would like to talk to you before you come.  I'm pretty enthusiastic about the beauty of California.  I'll guess that Jimbo would have some good suggestions, also.

Hi Gil - if you make it down to Tucson and have some time for a T@B visitor, let me know (but obviously you might be tied up while seeing friends)!  My plans are to meander in the west (first) once I retire - starting in Tucson and going to many states. I have family and grand kids in southern CA and another set in Portland, OR. Will spend time with each but lots of places in between. Believe it or not, I'm putting my things in storage and live full-time in my (not yet ordered) T@B - want to try it for a year to see how much trouble I can get into - just kidding!  Want to take all "back roads" and stay off the interstates as much as possible. Going up the coast highway appeals to me (but all of it does - so much to see)! After the west there are friends and relatives to visit all over the country. Look forward to chatting with you about other destinations! Michele
