When staying several days at a site without a sewer hookup, the portable waste tank comes in handy. It just depends on the type of camping you intend to do.

After reading the discussion mentioned by PXLated I expect I may not need a separate , portable dump tank.  I get the impression that if you are only staying off grid for a day or so then the storage for all waste water is sufficient on the T@B.  I really don't want to carry waste in the TV if I don't need to.  Guess it's best to try out the T@B tanks before making a decision.

I can manage 2 weeks before needing to dump the black tank. Showering every other day and with light sink use, The grey tank goes much fast for me (I only have 11 gallon.) Over 2 weeks, I use 2 small 5 gallon portable grey tanks plus my onboard grey tank.

Bill - I can boondock for two weeks between dumps. Not to get too personal but sponge baths are more efficient than showers. A urnal that can be emptied in the boonies saves a ton of space in your blackwater tank, etc. etc. etc. ... Some boondocking areas allow waste holes. It all comes down to where and what style of camping you do.
