Screening on A/C vent

I was walking around the outside of the Tab today and notice that there was a piece of screening material kind of wadded up inside the A/C vent.  I am guessing it should have been attached on the backside of the vent but am not sure.  I will take the vent cover off tomorrow and see if it is the same size as the vent and if so will try to attach it.  But I wanted to see if others have screening and how that screening was attached.  I guess it could just be a leftover piece from something else that found its way into that space.  Just not sure.

The screen is attached to the inside of the white grill. Using a plastic putty knife, break the caulking on the two sides and bottom of the grill (leave the top caulk alone). Remove the four screws and gently tilt the grill up.
