I don't know enough about the Zamp solar controllers to answer if they work properly with an "ordinary" non-Zamp panel. Just looking over images on the web the Zamp controllers look like all the other controllers.
The connection from the solar controller to the Zamp port on the trailer is the tricky part. The web has a brazillion threads on the dreaded "reverse polarity." It isn't as hard as it sounds, and maybe this thread will help.
If the run of wires from the panels ends in a MC4 connector, then you will need an MC4 to SAE adapter. It is very easy to simply change the cables at the batteries to allow another system ( or battery charger) to work. If you don't change the cables at the batteries, then in addition to the MC4 to SAE adapter, you will also need another SAE to SAE adapter to have proper polarity.
