If anyone is headed to the Bay Area, they are asking people to stay off the roads.

I'd stay away from 101 between Corte Madera and Ukiah, 80 going through American Canyon, and also 37. I think that most other major Bay Area arteries will be ok thanks to the holiday but I'd definitely check Waze or Google Maps before hitting the road.

Cal Fire's site has specific information about each fire and detailed information on road closures.

Ditto @Librarydragon -  These fires are terrible.  Also watch air quality in the area!  Prayers for safety for all those in the area, for those allowing evacuees to stay with you, and for those fighting these fires.

One person on my Retro group evacuated and stayed at a Casino parking lot and was allowed to stay longer than the casino allowed after they hastily evacuated with their camper from their home. Their house was spared, but it was scary. Then a deer hit the diamond plate front of the trailer.. geesh! Talk about a big dent. They are safe. Careful of air quality. Stay safe!

My folks evacuated safely out of Santa Rosa and are staying with cousins... so far their house is fine.  Dear family friends lost their home, and were very glad their 5th wheel was stored on the other side of town, as they are now living out of it.  Another friend was on vacation in the area.  The RV park they were staying in (in Calistoga) became an evacuation center... then had to evacuate.  They say that there are many RVs randomly parked in "safe" neighborhoods and no one cares.  People come out, help you set up, and offer any assistance they can.  This is a remarkable community pulling together to help one another!

My niece and nephew were allowed to return home. They live a few blocks away from Cofey Park.  The smoke here in Santa Cruz isn't bad today. Thursday and Friday our students had to have indoor recess because of poor air quality.
