Ahhhhh! Cute.  Reminds me of Sunny Day (Shih Tzu) when she was a baby.  "Traveler", "Pixil", "Photo-Jenn-ic".... Lots of names. All of the pets in our family have names that start with the letter "S".  That makes it more challenging.

  • Cute! A non-judgmental always there for you traveling companion adds value to the journey. Mine also add lots of hair which I choose not to focus on.  I found a cool 12v "DustBuster" type vacuum for quick clean ups.  Camp on!

Thanks, everyone. He is a Shih Tzu and I have decided on Rocky, since the Rocky Mountains are my favorite destination. He is doing great, so far!

He is doing great! Slept through the night and no accidents yet (although, I know they will come.)

Cute - Congrats ... My dad had a Shih Tzu and it was the nicest little dog. Never barked unless you absolutely teased the heck out of it.

Dogs are good people, they don't lie-they either love you or they don't, they are duty-bound to keep secrets and they absolutely won't deceive you.  But, never send a dog to deliver a steak.  That's about the only fault they have.

Precious!  I have a shih tzu, Kobe, who is my camping buddy.  Our son's girlfriend just got a little lab, Beau, who brightened our Christmas with his puppy antics.

    Cute new pup ya got

    Mine is not so little

But, she still wants to be a lap dog, so she likes to rest her head on my knee or hand even when camping

TABaker,  having had 3 labs, I could squeeze that little fella. They are chewing machines for quite sometime.  Don't leave anything lying around: eyeglasses, inflatable boats, furniture, house siding, etc.  Get my drift?
I have  never had a lap dog due to having seen and been around so many yelpers.  I think they had little dog syndrome caused by the owners.  Yours is a sweetheart.

I live labs, too. I needed a break, from non-stop shedding. My black & tan coonhound had major separation anxiety and so a normal well adjusted pup has been a bit of a break.

Jenn, if we have a chance to meet we can sit and swap separation anxiety stories!  My last adopted dog was a cattle dog and something similar to and almost identical to another member's dog.
she was wonderful, so protective, loving, herded me and all.  However, she destroyed a new crate, kept moving it until she pulled a thread in the carpet.  How about destroying an outside $250 kennel?
I no longer have her, but she is in another loving home where there is no separation.

My daughter has a beautiful lab, Leo, who is best buddies with my shih tzu.  She and her dog just moved out last month.  He lived with us for the first 6 years of his life.
