nuCamp Factory Tour Photos for June 26, 2018

Recently I stopped at the nuCamp factory to have Austin in Repairs take care of a two minor warranty items.  While waiting a nuCamp salesman named John was kind enough to give me a 50 minute one-on-one factory tour during his lunchbreak at their 153,000 sq foot building at 661 Belden Parkway in Sugarcreek, Ohio.  Since nuCamp was ahead of their 2018 build schedule they were cleaning up the factory floor space in anticipation of the July 4 week factory shutdown (only other time they shutdown is at Christmas).

As you may know Joe Mullet is the principal owner of nuCamp and Scott Hubble is the CEO.  NuCamp RV began in 2010 in the town in a 3,000-square-foot uninsulated barn with eight employees and a plan to build 9-foot-long teardrop trailers.  The company built 450 trailers that first year.  Eight years later, the business has 225 employees, with 75 percent of them Amish or Mennonite, hand-building and assembling about 4,300 trailers in 2018.  John mentioned that nuCamp may be coming out soon with a 20+ foot long trailer.  Out behind the factory you can see hundreds of finished trailers ready for shipment, but since they are a wholesaler only you can't buy direct from the factory.

Here are some photos to give you an idea of what it looks like inside the factory.
