Is changing the glycol in the alde really this simple?

1. pull the plug and empty the old glycol.
2. raise and lower the tongue to get it all out
3. put the plug back in
4. fill it to just above the min mark
5. turn the heat on to bleed the air out with the auto bleed

What am I missing?

I had hoped it was as easy as that, but alas I was unable to drain it all that way... There's one part of the system that would need another drain port installed (can't recall the geography from here on my couch) in order to be able to drain it completely that way.

Did you get 2.5 to 3 gallons out of the drain?  I have read that you need to drain it into a bucket & if you don’t get that amount in the bucket you did Not get it completely drained?

Am very interested to know if you drained out that amount please— thanks!

@ikc001, I think they are talking about the heating fluid, glycol, not the water in the the alde system.

Yes glycol. And so if I don't get every last drop. Is that an issue?

I've heard that Alde recommended rinsing the system thoroughly with fresh distilled water if changing from their glycol to another brand...

From previous threads, it seems that the capacity of the Tab's Alde system is around 2 gallons.

I am talking about the glycol not water.  See the link to the thread above.  My question still is--did you get a full 2 + gallons of glycol out?  Thank you
