Shakedown cruise

Several days into our shakedown trip I am thrilled to say that so far everything works as advertised.  A couple of observations. Prior to departure I moved the spare to the tongue.  It dragged in a driveway so the tip about moving it to the top of the tongue came just in time. Thanks again.

As I sit under the large PahaQue shade in a central Florida rain I am happy to have forked over the big bucks.

I know it is just condensation but my Norcold has a puddle in the bottom. Any suggestions for dealing with that?

Odd about the Norcold...is it on shore power?  What setting (and do you know the temp inside)?  Even though you're in a humid area (we're flying to Tampa feom Colorado to visit my brother) seems like it shouldn't condense.

Shore power and set almost to the max. Did same thing in the driveway at various settings. We probably go into it fairly frequently so I'm sure that plays into it.

BTW we live outside and pretty much just sleep inside.  When tent camping in the east we used a sunshade. What we use now is a screen house from Walmart. We have one more expensive but it is big and bulky so we opt for the $30 model.

Another very important lesson learned. Going to get rid of that horrible table! A real pain that will be replaced with slats.

I assume the condensation you mention is inside the fridge. If so its normal for a non-frost free refrigerator particularly in Florida humidity.  We have found that our Norcold 3-way will not only collect inside condensation it will make ice out of it if left on too a low setting for an extended period of time.   Actually we have experienced frozen oranges and cold cuts as well in our search for the correct temp setting.

Yep Sweetly we had frozen strawberries. We quickly learned to put hard to freeze items near the cooling fins. I guess we will just have to put an absorbent pad down. Hey it's better than the cooler, even though we still use it.

SweetlyHome - A too low setting causes the ice? So, is a 3.75 setting too low? I do get ice from time to time but that setting seems to keep the beverage at the temp I like.

Shakedown went well for 9 nights. Then it became obvious that I had a problem. Although we were on shore power we lost all electrical power. AC and DC. Got by with a battery charger until returned home. Was jiggling the car type ATC fuses and noticed that the inverter fan would turn on briefly. Kept at it until I decided to pull the 40 amp. Although it tested OK I replaced and inverter is working well.

I had a problem with lines scrolling the screen when watching a DVD. I suspected it was an electrical issue and appear to have been right. No more lines, perfect picture. Fingers crossed hoping it continues.

PXLated - We seem to get a little ice right on or below the fins no mater the setting.  The temperature of the fins likely is fixed when the frig actually runs.  It just runs more when you set the temp lower and the odds of freezing something go up.  Don't remember our setting this weekend but I had a partially frozen grapefruit because it fell directly against the fins.  Beverages were right on for a warm day.

SweetlyHome - That's been my experience also, anything below the fins freezes.
