I hitched up to the tow vehicle for extra balance. I only went through 40 mph winds in Arizona. Try to point the tow vehicle and/or T@B into the wind. Good Luck!

Keep it hitched and face in to the wind. Sounds like you're near us? In Utah. The winds were horrid this afternoon. 68 mph gusts steady 35. Lasted a couple of hours then switched to the north and died down slowly for a few hours. Snowing hard now. Gotta love spring in the Rockies. If you're worried lock up the trailer and head for bricks and mortar. Safety first.
Yep - unbelievable winds. Have had them all day across southern UT and northern AZ. This is the second time I've been in this area and had extremely high winds. I actually had to downshift into forth gear and accelerate to maintain 60 down a 5% grade by Kanab. At least I'm not siting on the beach in a major sandstorm like the last time. The old T@B is a rockin and a rollin. Really feel sorry for the people in the two tents that were blowin into a big heap.
But, has beautiful as this area is, I'm ready to ditch the whole area - this is absolutely ridiculous. I'll buy the picture book.
My problem is our T@B is sitting in the driveway with no way of hooking up without blocking everything else going or coming. Got the T@B pointed into the wind with chocks and stabelizers in place and will have to ride it out. Typical Wyoming Spring, 80* today and 5" snow predicted tomorrow.
I'm not hooked up and the tail is into the wind - Only way to do it here in this campground. And there's no way I was going to go out and change things in this wind. The steady winds don't seem to cause much of a problem but the gusts give it a good rock. The nice thing was the winds didn't affect the T@B while on the road. The TV got whipped around but T@B was nice and steady.
I'm not too worried - If it hasn't tipped it over by now it probably won't. The only thing rattling outside is the fan hood hinges. All I can do is sit here and laugh at how absurd the winds are. Heart goes out to the tent campers. Think I'd flee to the vehicle.
Glad your T@B continued to stand, both of you. While I've experienced the Silver Shadow in 40 mph winds, I don't want to experience 50 to 65 mph winds. That's brutal. Sorry to hear about the tent campers. Hopefully they sought refuge in the vehicle before the tent was damaged.

They crumpled up their crumpled up tent, packed their truck and fled. Probably up the road to the lodge. Their tent was trashed. Heard on the radio that this is normal spring weather across all of northern AZ and southern UT - High winds.
I was amazed at the daily winds in AZ. It would be calm for hours, and then all of sudden, there's a 20 mph wind. It was challenging to make sure I kept the chairs where they couldn't fly and hit the truck or the SS. And, as I've said before, for a state that is in a state of drought, there sure was a lot of rain this past winter in AZ.
But, come to think of it, back when I was riding a lot of miles on a bicycle, I really didn't like riding in March and April because of the spring winds. It seemed that you rode into the wind one the way away from the start of a ride, and on the way back, too. And, that's in Indiana.

Verna - "I was amazed at the daily winds in AZ" ... That's why I gerry-rigged a new tie-down system for my visor. It'd be nice and calm, I'd leave to go exploring, a good breeze would come up and fold my visor over the top or something - and it didn't take much to turn it into a parasail. My tie down keeps it place through some pretty stiff breezes (as long as the stakes are in something solid) - not heavy winds though.
