Rust visible looking through rims at wheelhub?

Last Friday we became the new owners of a slightly used 2018 320-CS. Previous/original owner stated it was only used twice, and it had been stored in a barn for the last year. With very little use I'm curious as to why the wheel hubs are rusty. I haven't had time to really inspect them, (not really knowing what to look for either btw, lol). I'd somewhat expect this appearance after five year of exposure to the elements, but two years? I’ll post pics if possible. Thanks!!
Thanks, Jerry
