Brought our new T@B out for a trial run. We are at Union reservoir in Longmont, Colorado about a half hour from home. We ha d hoped to do a little canoeing this afternoon but the weather was a little stormy. So far the t@b is great.

2Canoe -- Oh, wow, I live in Lakewood, Colorado, so I know what weather you are experiencing now. How do you like Union Reservoir? I have thought about going there, too. I have been to Carter Lake and LOVE that place in the off-season, but it gets noisy during the summer.
I am camping at St. Vrain State Park the weekend of the 15th of May. There is a balloon fesival in Erie, CO that weekend. I have had my T@B for 1-1/2 years now and I LOVE her. She is yellow/silver just like your T@B.
Happy travels.
We did enjoy the night at Union Reservoir. We were in the tent area because I didn't realize there was a separate RV area. The sites were nice enough but without electricity it will soon be too hot. It seems the RV spaces are closer together and they do not have water or electrify either. I think we are going to try Space #5 even though it is right on the road. It has a great view of the lake and Meeker and Longs Peak. I wanted the 15th and 16th of May but all spaces are reserved for Friday. The balloon event might explain that. Hope you have a great time. Which sites would you recommend at St. Vrain?
We were on the lake by 7:30 Sunday which was great. Did a full lap and then some skill training. We want to be prepared for our long northern Canadian canoe trip in September. It takes longer and longer to get there these days.

I would think that any site at St. Vrain which is not close to I-25 would be okay, but I have not camped there before. Yes, if you are a backcountry canoe camper, getting used to campgrounds will take some adjustment. I have been a tent-backpacker for years and years, and I dislike being so close to other RVs. One GREAT thing about the T@B is its incredible soundproofness -- is that a word? I have been able to totally tune out campground riffraff in the T@B. Put on a little battery powered fan, the radio, etc., and you cannot hear any other people.
One other place I've been (3-1/2 hrs. from Denver) is Eleven Mile State Park. The RV parking is not optimal, but the ability to paddle your canoe will be awesome. I tent-backpacked there, rented a kayak, and had an awesome experience paddling around the rocks and outcroppings.
You should take a look at Carter Lake, too. It has a lake for canoeing, and it's really nice; but be careful to choose your weekends. It does get busy in the summer. The 3rd campground tier is quieter. I stayed in Site #27.
Hope to see you around this summer!!! :)
