Reality on towing an early T@B with a 4 cylinder Ford Ranger.

i really want a T@B! My dilemma is I own a 2011 Ford Ranger with a 4 cylinder. It does have a tow package and can tow 2160 lbs. the 2004/5 T@Bs have a dry weight of 1360. My question is: has anyone here towed one of these earlier T@Bs with a Ford Ranger 4 banger and what was your experience? Thanks!

Welcome to the Forums...there have been some discussions on the Ford Rangers.  Some of the threads came up because of "park rangers" so you may have to look closely!

Hi— thanks for the welcome. I did search— and didn’t see any specific answers to my concerns. Ideally a response from a 4 cyl Ford Ranger owner with hands on experience towing an early T@B would be fantastic!

The reason you probably haven't found a Ranger towing a Tab is because of the information in that thread that discourages it.

I read that thread— thanks! But this was before she purchased. I’d love to read about someone’s hands on experience towing the earlier lighter T@B.
