Recently got back from a 2,439 mile trip with my new Tacoma and my 2014 T@B, ClemenT@B. This is the longest trip I have taken with my T@B. Everything performed flawlessly, except for the 12-V fan not working for one night and then unexpectedly working again the next night What's up with that????
I pulled through high winds in the New Mexico and Tucson areas, and the T@B was stable, had no sway, had no issues, and I had no stress other than grabbing the steering wheel a littler harder.:)
I boondocked for 10 nights continuously. My system was an 80W Zamp (one day of NO sun), a Goal Zero 150 YETI battery-powered generator for powering my laptop, a Goal Zero lantern for supplying nighttime lights, and a Goal Zero Switch 8 battery for powering my cell phone. I had excellent Verizon coverage the entire way from Denver to Tucson and used my Hotspot to get Internet coverage.
At Catalina State Park in Tucson, there is little shade, so be aware. My awning did a great job of providing shade, but the winds made it necessary for me to take it down. It actually pulled off the keder rail when I was in Wickenburg, AZ (VERY high winds), but it didn't blow away because I had it staked down REALLY good.
So a really fun twist to this story is that I got to meet up with fellow T@BBER Mickietucs who lives in Tucson. She showed me the downtown, we had dinner, and shared a lot of camping stories. What a great T@BBING community we have here on this Forum.
The only thing that annoyed me was my shoes kept getting in the way on the floor. I hung them up from the storage net under the air conditioner, but I need to find a better solution for them. Suggestions?
I had a great trip, and I highly recommend taking a LONG trip to acquaint yourself with what you need, what's important, and how to make your next trip better.
Long Live My ClemenT@B.

Winds/Awning - Haven't had my Visor attached for three weeks now and it doesn't look like it will be out this week either. I stake mine down pretty good so it doesn't get away but I added clamps with bungee balls at the front/back edges that are tied to the front and back T@B handles or it seems the wind can pull it out of the rail at the ends. So everything stays in place even in high winds. But, if it's real gusty it can whip around and I've had it separate the poll joints a couple times - one time splitting the end of one and had to super glue it back together - so don't put it up if there are gusts now.
Wickenburg - Where'd you camp - Fairgrounds? - Was through there but they had a big rodeo going on so the place was full. Nice little town, great little cafe north of downtown - can't remember the name :-(
Boondocking - Where did you camp? I spent one night south of Wickenburg and three nights NE outside Congress.
Shoes - I sometimes throw them in the shower.
You never really travel alone. The world is full of friends waiting to get to know you!
Lisa, thanks for the shoe rack idea. I think it's a winner!
PXLated -- Yes, I stayed at Constellation Park, which is the rodeo campground. It was only $5/night, but of course there are no hookups and no facilities. It is quite sandy and the sites are not graded or leveled. But I found a fairly level site and it was quiet there with only 7 out of 25 sites occupied (during the week).
My son lives on a ranch outside of Wickenburg, and he took me to a Mexican restaurant in town for lunch. I took my quart-sized water bottle with me and filled it up at the restaurant. One is always looking for ways to get water when boondocking.
Water - A lot of towns in the SW have water vending machines (quarter/gallon). I used to be paranoid about carrying enough water but found it to be fairly available. Still carry a full tank and five extra gallons with me though.

Sounds like a great adventure! I will be traveling close to that many miles with my brand new T@B, leaving the end of this month.
I love reading about yours and everyone else's adventures and Little Guys!
