The Mouse needed some Maintenance

Our well used Dutchmen 2007 Clamshell was showing some definite interior wear. The DM Clamshells have a permanent spot for the portapotty that we use on a regular basis. The interior of that spot was looking a bit shabby.

I found a product to refresh it and also this product will clean a lot easier. It's like PVC poster board. Cuts with a straight edge and utility knife.

The finished installation

Next, I redid the hinged tops of the front bench. The previous tops were paper covered wood. The paper covering was peeling and cracking.

I got some birch plywood, cut to fit on my dad's table saw, and coated with several coats of polyurethane. I used the existing frames and hinges, but when I reassembled, I used screws instead of the staples.

Then finished off the front edges with some wood trim. I painted the trim with the same paint as my exterior trailer trim to bring a little "blue" inside.

Carol, you are a good example of the value of maintenance of our Tabs. They can really hold their value relative to the typical RV.Sharon / 2017 T@B CSS / 2015 Toyota Sienna Minivan / Westlake, Ohio
