Verifying battery cable attachment

This past fall I was in a bit of a rush to get things winterized. I disconnected the battery cables to store the batter in the basement on a trickle charge. I unfortunately didn’t mark the cables 🙄. I assume the red wires hook to the positive terminal and the white wires to the negative terminal?

Correct. If in doubt, just remember the lines with the fuse holders go on the positive terminal. Also note that the ring terminals are different--the positive posts are usually a little larger in diameter than the negative posts.

Thank you Scott. Knowing red is hot and white is negative, the green wires with the inline fuses confused my wife and I.

Yeah, the green leads are little strange. My 2015 is the same way. I suspect at some point in the past the factory got a bulk deal on fuse holders with green wires.  :-)

When in doubt, take photos of things you are about to dismantle.  Here is mine..

Nice pic.  Does anyone have a pic of the TAB 400 battery connections?

@falcon1970 I don't know if anyone has laid eyes on a 400 battery, by all reports it is major task to get to it. Maybe in time I will (picking up a new 400 on the 23rd) as I am curious about what is hidden :)

It IS well ensconced--under the bed, sunk slightly into the cargo bay flooring, and covered by a rubber case which is attached by about a dozen screws and penetrated by attachments for the vent and power cables!
  • Thank you TerryV6 and ScottG! We were just about to go pay the RV repair place to connect the dang battery! First we are also trying to charge up our new 200ah Lithium Iron Battery. The Battery Store that just charged it overnight says it's bad. The Sales is now talking to them.
