    Are those screwed in?

Yes. 3m tape and Comand strips will not hold over the long term. I felt screws were a small price to pay for the extra storage.

Is there anything in that door besides foam to dig into or is it reliant on just the door covering to hold it?

I used a combination of screws in the top corners and 3M mounting tape around the perimeter. The baskets were from Hobby Lobby. They have straight sides and were cut in half so as not to extend out to far. I attached 1/2x1/2 wood trim along the inside edge of the cut edge with small screws. The 3M tape goes between the wood and the door.

Hey Dale, those look great!  By the way I am still looking for flags to hang on my flag pole like you had at Tearstock, do you know the website where you bought them from?

I bought it a flea market in AZ. Have you tried kite web sites? By the way the Jack mount works great thanks again.

Dale, could you kindly post another pic with the camera aimed down into an empty basket? I am trying to better see how you attached the wood, and it looks almost like there is a bracket of some sort at the top with the screw in it. Sorry to be so needy...I am a visual gal!

In my earlier post I suggested using 1/2x1/2 square dowel. I already had some 1/2x1/2 pvc inside corner molding in my shop so I used what I had on hand. It worked quite well. Where the molding contacts the door I used 3M red trim double sided tape. The screws into the door prevent the tape from pulling away over time. Hope these pictures help.

After a visit with Dale and Sandi, decided to attempt the door baskets. Followed his directions and advice and pleased with added storage possibilities. Pictures show results.

Baskets look good. I also noticed your tire on the hitch. Is that attached somehow. I was just thinking about attempting something like that today, was pondering ways of doing it and the saw your photo. Thanks.

@mergs If you search on spare hitch mount, you’ll find a bunch of methods!

@mergs, it makes more sense viewed from the front. Standard spare tire carrier mounted to the jack post with U-bolts. The weight of the tire is actually carried by the trailer frame. There are many subtle variations but they are all basically the same idea.

@mergs this is the one I used, adding U bolts and some neoprene padding(old mouse pad.)
