Alde 3020 - Adding an external temp sensor ?

Just picked up our new 320s , and noticed that the Alde 3020 display could possibly be set up to register an external temperature reading on the display ? Thinking that would be a very nice feature to have ! Surprised nuCamp doesnt include as standard with the Alde system .
So .........
Has anyone added the external temp sensor to there tab with the Alde system ? Is this even possible / sensor available for purchase ?

There is one or more post from member who have done this. Maybe someone can provide the link. I believer you need to order the sensor from England as there are no US suppliers for it. Simple installation.

I purchased the sensor from my dealer, it is installed, but just in the Alde compartment currently. Haven't had time to figure out how to get it outside yet, a simple way would be to just run it out the compartment door, but that leaves the door ajar for things to come in. The install itself is just plug it into the Alde. I know one thing, the Alde compartment will NOT freeze when it is making heat or hot water

I am going to try and see if my dealer can order this for me .
Will report back on how that goes , and installation if I get that far .

I finally got around to doing the permanent install. I drilled a hole through the floor and mounted to the frame behind the left wheel with double sided Gorilla tape. Pretty easy install and looks factory if I say so myself

Pro tip, remove connector and drill a small hole, wire is now a tight fit and then re-install the connector, plug in and done. I will get some sealant and add to outside, but really almost not needed as with tight fit, no room for anything to get in.

It’s a shame to waste heat like that. I wish we had insulated and enclosed tanks where this waste heat is ducted to protect the FW and waste tanks. We like to winter camp, and our previous TT had heat ducted to the underside.

Any chance of getting some photos of the connection at the other end too? ie in the Alde compartment?

I am a bit nervous about drilling through floor and wondering how you selected the location? Did you drill top down from inside the Alde compartment?

How has the Gorilla tape lasted?

“Mandy” at Alde’s Washington state office told me via email I could order the external temp sensor and the battery backup for the control panel from them. Just call Alde’s office.

The battery backup with save all your settings so you don’t have to reprogram the Alde every time you use it.

No. I know of few members who have elected the backup. @Verna, did you get the battery backup? I know Steve and Karen had it for their CS.

The battery backup should be standard, as re-programming the Alde control head every time you have to turn battery switch to 'off' is a pain (in my case, to re-set the stupid Jensen so it will find a 'known' Bluetooth device).

I looked into this sensor months ago, but couldn't determine if it actually used the data to more intelligently warm the interior?

I asked Spencer at Alde about the temp sensor and he said it simply tells you the temp at a location other than at the Alde display panel--and displays it on the panel. You can connect up to two separate sensors.
