Mod on fridge

@Dalehelman.  I saw somewhere you did a mod putting a decorative metal panel in the side panel on your fridge for more airflow to the fridge.  Questions:

1.  Do you think you will get cold air coming into the interior during cold temps?
2.  Did you consider just drilling some holes in the plastic cover rather than the decorative metal?  I'm not sure I could get perfectly straight line cuts in the cover.  What did you use to attach the metal to the inside of the plastic cover?
3.  I took off the cover to look at that area-- mine has a piece of reflectix on the inside of the plastic cover-- what would that be for?

Thanks!

    Here is the mod thread:

If you take that cover off you will see what you are dealing with.  The space isn't really open to the elements, and if it was, that plastic cover isn't sealed well anyway.

In hot desert temps, I just take that cover off, and it seems to cool pretty well.

@pthomas745. Thanks for that info!  I was wondering how open that cabinet is to the elements since I have the two round vents on the front of the trailer

I took my time and scored the inside with a utility knife several times. The plastic is pretty soft. I used hot glue to hold the metal screen in place.

Here’s my version of @Dalehelman’s refrigerator mod. I used my roto-zip to cut the area out and clear gorilla glue to keep it in place.

@Lil_Lucy. I like that silver with the gray— that’s what I have in my trailer—
