Boondock Rack

I want to carry a few light items on my Boondock rack but I don’t have a basket.
Wondering if there is another simpler solution . It’s not the price so much It’s over kill for what I need and adds weight and frankly don’t love the way it looks.
Items are in a super duty bag that will attach just fine to the rack.
I don’t wanna scratch the roof of course.

There are less expensive racks that will keep your large bag away from the aluminum roof. But, you do need to touch up the paint on the less expensive racks.
Or, use short ratcheting straps to tie your bag to both of the cross pieces. Be sure to tie up the loose ends of the straps so they won’t fly around and scratch the roof.Verna, Columbus, IN

The aluminum skin up top dents very easily. We have the Yakima cargo rack, and while it's not good for putting heavy items in, I've found multiple uses for it. For travel, we usually just have chairs strapped in there, but when camped I've used it to hold the solar suitcase while open, dried clothes and boots, etc. We also lock items to it when we're gone that we don't want to walk away. You can get the Curt version for 99 bucks, probably worth it to protect the top of the camper. Then you can use netting or bungies to hold your bag in there.2015 Max S Outback | 2010 Xterra -- Retired

@Tater, if you live close to Indiana, I have a basket that I would sell you at a very good price. Already assembled. It would not be worth it to me to disassemble it, box it up and ship it.It was on my Tacoma for about 8 months or so. It held my Blue Boy and outdoor rugs.Verna, Columbus, IN

Wow, my friend moved from Columbus. You by chance know Priscilla Scalf? She ran for Mayor a few years back.If I head that way I will let you know.Thanks2019 320S Boondock Edge0

I just moved to this area. While I know the area (especially the fishing lakes!), I really don’t know many people yet. I’m still enjoying the quietness, compared to the noises of the ‘burbs of Indianapolis!Verna, Columbus, IN
