Retrofitting a Standard Center Hinge Roof Vent cover for a Side Hinged Ventline Northern Breeze

I cracked the roof vent for the Northern Breeze roof vent on our 2010 T@b, and as you all likely know a replacement vent cover either can't be found, or if you can, they're 100 bucks or so. I decided to see if I could retro fit a standard vent that was designed to be hinged in the middle, and move the hinge to the side. My hardware isn't the prettiest as I did this when the hardware store was closed because of Covid, so I used what I had.

Looks like it worked!  Any concerns with wind?  Do you need 2 hinges?

I don't know I haven't had it out much at all since I fixed it, but since it came stock with a single side hinge and I bet the cover I cracked was oem, it lasted 10 years! We'll see...
