Hi ! When we picked up our trailer two weeks ago , the dealer already had it winterize ; now realizing that with it being winterized we wont be able to use the hot shower or hot water function at all and bec we have a trip coming this weekend from Seattle to San Diego , we asked them to dewinterize it . I guess my question is are we all set at this point ? I just read a post about the black tank making sure that it doesnt freeze but cant find it anymore . As a newbie please shower me with all the advise and tips and tricks . We tested the alde in the drive way and so far so good but am so scared of the black tank i plan on not using the toilet ha ha ha. We still have our porta potty .

The first question: will it be below freezing during your trip? If not, don't worry. Will it be just a little bit below freezing for a few hours before dawn? Probably not a problem. Heading for the mountains and a little snow and the temperature will be below freezing for a long period of time? Big problem.Your best option? If you are taking the coast route from Seattle to SanDiego, just use the Alde at night, and you should be fine. No extreme temps in the forecast for the West coast right now. Getting put of Seattle and through the Cascade mountains could be iffy, but stick to I5, and once past Grant’s Pass you should be fine.Take some RV Antifreeze with you for grey and black tank, in case you have some nights below freezing. Just dump the tanks, add some antifreeze and open drain valves to get some of the antifreeze in the gate vales for the tanks.Cheers2018 TaB400 Custom Boondock, Jeep Gladiator truck, Northern California Coast.
