Screw Drivers

As a bit of trivia, square headed screws are a Canadian invention. They were developed by the P. L. Robertson Company in 1908. The U.S. counterpart is the Torx, which was designed for use by automated assembly systems. The patent rights to the Robertson design have been expired since 1964 so they are more prevalent than they were a number of years ago. 

I love square drive screws in my woodworking and home repairs. They're harder to strip the heads than Phillips and pan head. The pocket screws are square drive are so much easier to drive in than other types. Just a lot easier. Maybe I should get a couple of screw drivers instead of relying on my cordless drill driver and bits, but I do have a couple of screwdrivers that have exchangeable bits.

Verna- you can use small flat head screwdrivers if your in a pinch. They fit in catty-cornered sufficient enough to turn the screw.

I just went to Lowes and bought a screwdriver/head set with every type of head known to mankind. 48 tips/heads as I recall for about $30-35 bucks.
