Which year TaB400 do you have? 2018 and early 2019 used a single 12VDC AGM battery (many of which have been replaced) and newer TaB400s have a dual 6VDC AGM batteries wired in series, which acts like a big sing 12VDC battery. Each battery type has its own settings. The factory solar controller should be set for the factory battery you have. You can use these settings to initially setup the Victron BMV.Cheers2018 TaB400 Custom Boondock, Jeep Gladiator truck, Northern California Coast.

d'oh! updated thanks

So you have the dual 224amp 6VDC AGM batteries. Look on the Victron site, there is a standard suggested AGM profile setting, just change the AmpHr setting to match your batteries. That is what I did for our single 200 amp AGM, works great.

Denny, so each AGM battery is 112 amp hrs?
-
No, each 6VDC battery is the 224 amp hr rating, in series you add voltage, so two 6 VDC is 12 volts, amps stay the same. To increase amps, you wire two 12 volt batteries in parallel. So two 12 VDC batteries at 150 amps each wired in parallel will give you 300 amps at 12 volts.

Here are the settings I researched and tested on my 2021 Tab 400. These are working well for me. The first one is the solar controller and th second one is the BMV. Hope this helps!

Fantastic thanks Tom!

Note you can also configure your SOC discharge floor to 20% if you like but I keep at 50% for now. This value is used to calculate remaining battery time as well as calculating the displayed SOC (for example, if discharge floor is set to 50% and you discharge to 60%, the BMV will show you have 20% of usable capacity remaining).
-
I set ours to 40% floor level for minimum discharge level, to give me an additional 20% reserve. This works well also.

Thanks all, since we pretty much only Boondock I like to set ours to 20% so when I look at the time remaining it’s worst case 👍

I found that I needed to set the "Charged Voltage" on the BMV to a value higher than the default 13.2V. I found that the BMV thought my battery to be fully charged way too soon (when the solar system was still in Bulk Charge mode). I raised it to 13.6V and the State Of Charge now seems to be behaving better.

Yes, AGMs can be set at 13.6 or 13.8 VDC for a more accurate charge level indication.

You can accomplish the same thing with lowering the tail current can't you? I just finished a full day of solar charging and my resting battery is at 13.3. I don't think I've ever see it as high as 13.6 (yet).
-
I agree a resting max charge is closer to 13.3 VDC on standard batteries. But the solar controller and BMV do normally not measure resting voltage levels during system use.Cheers2018 TaB400 Custom Boondock, Jeep Gladiator truck, Northern California Coast.
