If you tap the power button (vs holding it down) it will turn the leds/display off.Ironically you can’t do this when the unit itself IS off.My next mod when I get back from this trip is to install an external power switch to be able to shut it completely off, zero power, when boondocking.

You can turn the display completely off in settings. Set the Dimming to the lowest setting, which is completely off, then simply press the power button and the screen will dim, in this case to black. Press the power button again, and it comes back on.
