RV extension cords

Any reason I can't use my old 50 amp ext. cord with an adapter on each end to power my 30 amp travel trailer? The adapter at the outlet being plugged into a 30 amp service. So, 30 amp cord, 30 to 50 adapter, 50 amp ext cord, 50 to 30 adapter, 30 amp outlet. Hate to buy a new 30 amp cord for no reason. I already have the adapters.

No, the 50-amp cable should work fine, it has larger conductors than a 30 amp cord, and bigger is better electrically speaking…

Thanks so much for your reply. Sometimes I overthink things, esp when it involves safety.
