Apple Pie in a Toaster Oven

If you can afford the storage space, I highly recommend keeping a small toaster oven in your Tab400. I have the BlacknDecker Crisp’n Bake Air-Fry Toaster Oven. $40 from Walmart. This past weekend, we camped with friends and had Friendsgiving Dinner. Deep fried bird, all the trimmings and a freshly baked, scratch made apple pie.
I was highly skeptical of doing any real baking in a toaster oven, but I am quite impressed by this little unit. Besides making a 7” round, half sized pie, I also made an 8x8 square. Both baked to perfection.
I had my oven set up outside on a table under the awning, but I certainly could have kept it indoors, too.
I can see where having a toaster oven will provide an awful lot of versatility to camp meals. Of course, shore power is required, but I always have my fireside Dutch oven if I feel like roughing it.

@Snoblett, looks great! Quite a few of us bake while camping, but many of us have done it using our weber q grill. There is a really nice thread "baking with the q" with recipes, techniques and ideas. I have now mastered yeast bread from scratch, baked apples as well as package mixes for blueberry muffins, brownies, biscuits and more. Hubby and me eat what we do at home while on our travels, however cooking and baking utilize different appliances than when in our stickbuilt.

Plz keep expanding our horizons and providing examples of alternate baking appliances, methods and accomplishments. You are proving to others that with creativity and forethought we as a community are not limited to the standard "camping" fare.

@Snoblett, check out the thread "baking with the Q". If that whole thread sounds interesting and mouthwatering, then go for the Q. Allows real baking without the need for electricity.2017 t@b sofitel(Dr@gonsFly)TV 2015 Silverado 2500hd(Behemoth). Wyandotte, Michigan.

The flour on the counter is making my OCD antennae twitch, but the finished products look great!
