Tires

I realize the this has been discussed before, but I can't find a definitive answer. I have a used 2006 T&B camper with old tires. They are car tires and I would like to replace them with trailer tires. But I can't find in my literature a definitive tire size. Current tires are M/S 205/55R16, which are car tires. What size should I get in dedicated trailer tires? Or should I just replace them with new car or light truck tires??
Thanks,
Rick

One of my buddies has a similar vintage T@b and the tires are indeed low profile car tires on 16" rims. AFAIK there are no trailer tires in that size and regular 16" trailer tires are going to be too tall and rub. Given the low tire loading (less than most modern SUVs) I'd stick with car tires.

You tires are the correct original size and they are indeed "car tires". With careful shopping you can find that size with extra load rating (94 vs 91) for a bit more safety margin. My experience is the tires will need to be replaced due to age long before any significant tread wear.
