Forget your center cushion? All is not lost!

We rarely travel with the center cushion used to convert the Tab 400 dinette into a sleeping area.
Recently, cushionless, we had the need for the extra bed. After playing around with the positioning of the two seat cushions we did have, I arrived at this surprisingly comfortable arrangement:
I tucked a rolled up towel between the smaller cushion and the wall to help keep it in place. I’m 6’ 1” and my head and torso fit fully on the larger cushion very comfortably. With my feet in the recess under the driver’s side porthole window, I slept quite well. I did miss the Froli system, though!

Been there too. Forgot the cushion when traveling with our sons and only realized when we arrived .... no complaints with the modified bed either.

Is that the new bed in the 400? I’m curious what the weight of the table would be as I have a 2019 that does not have the hinged end and would like to replace it.Mike - Elmira, Mi / 2019 T@B 400 / 2021 Chevy Silverado LTZ

Mike, this is a 2018-2019 TaB400, with the original dinette setup, and wardrobe locker. Infinity flooring dates the TaB 400, which the OP modified by replacing the original heavy table with a drop front or removable front that was popular with the early TaB400s, and Alde overflow tank is not in the dinette porthole cubby. The new 2023 TaB400 bunk, does not have the rail bracket on the front of the trailer, as it uses a rectangle table with a Lagun table mount.Cheers2018 TaB400 Custom Boondock, Jeep Gladiator truck, Northern California Coast.

@Michigan_Mike That’s a modification I did several years ago based on an idea from other people on the forum. I made mine with a removable end rather than a drop-down end. It seem to me that the drop-down end would really be in the way when trying to get into the dinette seats. Having a removable end eliminated that problem.

These pictures show how I constructed mine and the supports and latch that I used. There’s whole discussion on this mod here:gande

I got to see Gary’s TaB today, his mods are very nicely done, especially like his new table approach and build.
