Hi. We have a 2018 Tab 400. Any thoughts on how to carry a generator?

Bend with your knees.

Too many variables. How heavy is the generator? What is your current tongue weight and how much is your tow vehicle rated for? Do you have room for it in your tow vehicle? ... And don't forget that you also have to consider how you'll carry fuel.
We carry a 25 pound 700W propane generator on the roof of our tow vehicle for emergency battery charging.

Yep, bend with the knees and lift with the legs. Then put it in the back of your 1/2 ton pickup truck!
